2019 Gunn Baldursson Memorial Soccer Tournament
Acadia University Residence Guidelines
Acadia University is pleased to offer accommodations to the teams in the Gunn Baldursson Memorial Soccer
Tournament:
• Check-in Date Friday July 19th
• Check-out Date Sunday July 21th
• Check-in at Cutten House
• Teams will be permitted to book on Saturday morning for Saturday evening accommodation
Please read the following information prior to making your reservation. All reservations are subject to availability.
Room Rates $32.00 + HST per person, per night
• Room assignments will be made by Acadia’s Box Office staff and will be subject to availability at
the time of room assignment.
• Team Rosters must accompany the application. Rooms cannot be assigned without a player’s
name.
• Guests will provide their own towels and face cloths.
• Rooms cancelled within 48 hours of arrival will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to one
night’s stay per room.
2. One adult representing the team is to be designated at the time of booking as the team escort. This
individual must stay in residence with the team members and is responsible for:
• Liaising with the front desk and security staff ensuring all team members adhere to the Residence
Guidelines
• Ensuring any damage is reported and accounted for. All damage to university residence property
will be charged to the team member responsible. These damages will be applied against the team’s
security deposit with the team escort being responsible for seeking compensation from the team
member(s). The team escort is responsible for ensuring all team members are aware of this clause.
• Team check-in and check-out
i. Full prepayment is required at check-in.
ii. All keys will be signed over to the team escort at check-in and the escort will be
responsible for issuing keys to individual team members
iii. The team escort must provide a credit card number at check-in as a security deposit.
Teams will not be checked in without a security deposit.
iv. To book on Saturday morning for Saturday evening accommodations, the Cutten
House front desk will be open to accept bookings. All cards must be returned to the
staff for authorization and the original credit card will be charged for the extra night.
v. The team escort must ensure all charges are paid in full by check-out.
3. Youth teams/under 19 categories are required to be accompanied by one (1) chaperone for every ten (10)
players staying in residence. All chaperones must stay in the residence with their group.
4. Quiet time hours 10:00 pm – 7:00 am
5. Alcohol Policy - The Liquor Control Act of Nova Scotia and posted University Policies apply. Persons
under the age of 19 are not permitted to be in possession of, or consume alcoholic beverages on Acadia
University property.
To reserve residence accommodations please complete the form and forward to the Acadia
University Box Office, along with a Team Roster, and a non-refundable deposit of $10.00 per
team member. Reservations will be subject to availability at the time the completed request form,
team roster and non-refundable deposit are received. Reservations cannot be processed
without this information.
